I was born in what was then the West Riding of Yorkshire in the 1950’s.
As a child I had a constant supply of paper, pens and pencils, mine was a wonderful childhood with creativity at the heart of it.
During my teenage years we moved to London where I studied art at school and college. However, after leaving college I worked as a civil engineering draughtsman. These early years left me with a love of art and architecture and a passion for precision and detail which comes out in my work. If you add to this a lifelong love of nature, wildlife and walking and you have the formula.
I returned to my beloved Yorkshire (gods own country) in the 1980,s and worked in a civil service role. However, I have continued to create and study art over the intervening years, attending various classes including a backs degree course in the 1990,s. I have worked in various media over the years, including, acrylics, gouache, and pen and ink. Recently due to the improvements in quality I began to experiment with coloured pencils, combined with other mixed media which I tend to use at present.
